Jeff McAlvey started McAlvey & Associates in 1997.  Jeff had spent the previous 14 years in the administration of the Senate Majority Leader and then Governor John Engler.  Jeff spent nearly 8 years as the Governor Engler’s Legislative Director.  Throughout that time,  Jeff saw the good, the bad, and the ugly of governmental and political consulting.

Jeff began the firm to utilize the skills and talents that he had acquired during his time “inside the beltway.”  He did not just watch on the sidelines or participate in an insignificant way.  Whether it was appropriations, the procurement of state contracts, regulation development, or the passage of legislation, Jeff was at the center of the action.  Through his experiences, Jeff learned the inner working of the entire legislative and regulatory system.  A lot of lobbyists around the Capitol talk about their knowledge of the process, Jeff has lived it.  His unique experiences make him one of the finest lobbyists in the Capitol and McAlvey & Associates one of the most respected firms in Lansing.
